From the Qur'an

“They ask you what they should give. Say: whatever good you give is for parents, relatives, orphans, the poor and the traveller. And whatever good you do — Allah knows it.”

Surah Al-Baqarah 2:215

What we do

Six charitable aims guiding everything Rufia Redwan Trust does.

Poverty relief, beginning at home

Preventing and relieving poverty in the Jagannathpur area of Sylhet, Bangladesh, and among people from that region now living in the UK — through grants, essential items and services to those in need and to charities working there.

Support for the displaced

Helping refugees, asylum seekers, migrant workers and destitute families — in Bangladesh and the UK — with interpreting, translation, advocacy, and support for health, housing, education and hardship.

Lifting people, everywhere

Preventing and relieving poverty around the world through education, training, healthcare and sustainable income generation.

Understanding the causes

Researching the causes of poverty and the strategies that genuinely reduce it.

Fairness for producers

Developing a fair-trade mark to support producers in developing regions.

Hope for young people

Relieving youth poverty through grants for recreation, learning and personal development.
